Have you just had a new child? Bought a new car? Built a new office building? Worried that your "friends" and others are filled with envy about your good fortune? The protection of the Evil Eye is used for anything new or likely to attract praise. The belief is that even well-intentioned compliments include a conscious or unconscious dose of envy and resentment. The bead reflects the evil intent back to the onlooker. It somewhat resembles an eye and it is said the typical blue color is a factor in protecting the user.

Evil Eye is a very powerful, traditional protective symbol used in Feng Shui against harmful energy. The round shape and the blue color symbolize Heaven and Spirituality and the depiction in the middle either painted or in bronze represents a spiritual, watchful eye. It can be used for personal protection, for babies, animals, outside or inside the house in order to deflect negative energy. Possession of many of them gives extreme good luck. Display the ‘hamsa’ or other evil eye protector in the house. As a personal protection, use the bracelets with ‘hamsa’ charms hanging from it or single eyes in your necklace.

Amulets, which are worn to repel the evil eye are known as a repellent talisman or charm. The Lucky Hand (‘hamsa’) represents a charm often taking the form of brass objects and jewelry that is considered to be powerful protection against the evil eye. The hand appears either with one or two thumbs, both having the same meaning. In addition to a blue bead, blue eye, the hand-in-eye amulets is also worn to protect from its wrong doing gaze. This hand-shaped charm is usually worn as jewelry, but larger ones, with prayers of protection, are hung on the wall of houses and offices.  Worn by many Celebrities and artists, it is said to bring Good Luck and Protection to people and houses.
